Page Four PROCONIAN Thursday, March 8, 1945 TOURNAMENT (Continued from page one) some reports that Asheboro is considering entering teams — thereby forcing the ’Cats to play in the semi-final round Saturday night—but at last reports from Tournament Headquarters there was no confirmation of this. If and when the Wildcat teams do win their first game, it can be pretty well said who they will meet in the finals. In the boys’ division, Burlington, according to pre-teurnament information, is the best team in the upper brack et and should have no trouble reaching the finals. The same source states that Efland seems to have the powerhouse in the girls’ upper bracket and also should reach the finals. Graduate Does Well In College Betta MacCarthy, who grad uated from C. H. H. S. in 1942, has been at Sarah Lawrence Col lege in Bronxville, N. Y., for the last three years. The first article in the Sarah Lawrence Studies for 1945 is Betta’s biographical sketch of Alexander Hamilton. Written in her first year in col lege, the sketch shows Hamilton as a man and gives a vivid pic ture of his personality. It is carefully written, and the scope of material shows that lengthy research was necessary to write it. Sarah Lawrence is an exclu sive girls’ school near New York where new methods of teaching have been pioneered. Betta has done excellent work there, and has received recognition from the authorities of the school. CLASSIFIED ADS LOST — Blue notebook. Three ring.
