Stanbach’s Stalwarts Liquidate Hillsboro In Saturday Playoff Field the “Wildcat baseballers trounched AN outhit and out played Hillsboro nine 17-4. Hillsboro started off fast when Frederick reached first on an er ror, went to third on a bunt, and scored on Johnson’s infield out. Chapel Hill came back strong in their half of the inning, though. Gobbel singled and scored on a double by Womble, who reached third when Cates missed a throw. Carroll walked and stole second. Then Roy Lloyd hit safely and drove in Womble and Carroll. From here on in it was smooth sailing for the Wildcats. They sccored in every inning but the seventh, and collected a total of 20 hits off three Hillsboro pitch ers. Bernard Lloyd’s excellent pitching held Hillsboro to only six safe hits. George Womble led the Chapel Hill hitting, getting four hits for six times at bat. This game decided the county class “B” championship and the Wildcats’ next conference game will be with Dunn. (J. G.)
