EAST APSE MOSAIC is completed at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception,
Washington, D.C. The 3,570 square-foot mosaic shows St. Joseph, the Defender of the Church
and Model of Workingmen. The Church is represented by the ecumenical group at right, show

are Francis Cardinal Spellman, Sister Mary Luke, S.L., and lay observer James J. Norris.
Cardinal Montini, now Pope Paul VI, is depicted as is the Danish Lutheran observer, Dr. Kris

At Belmont Abbey
BELMONT — A 30-minute
sound, color motion picture
made by Belmont Abbey College
students was presented in the
Seventh Annual Abbey Revue
Variety Show Thursday and Fri
day evenings, April 13 and 14.
The revue was staged in the
Haid Gym on the Belmont Abbey
campus.
The film, entitled “Bathos,” is
billed as a “satirical, spooky
spoof.” The title itself indicates
a mood first of seriousness
which developes into a complete
satire.
In addition to the movie, the
Abbey Revue offered an array
of entertaining performances by
Belmont Abbey _ and Sacred
Heart students and from per
sons in the surrounding com
munity including Charlotte, Gas
tonia and Belmont.
Three Bands
Three live bands in person,
folk-rock singers, the Shadrack
dancers, comedy singers and
skits made bright, exciting and
youthful contributions to the
overall appeal of the show. In
fact, only college students could
have possibly written and staged
the hilarious comedy skits.
The Haid Gym on the Bel
mont Abbey Campus was con
verted into a beautiful theatre
with flowing red and white cur
tains, side stages, and extensive
lighting and sound networks.
The admission was set at $1.00
at the door with proceeds going
to the Belmont Abbey Building
Fund.
