O’Byme Council will have exemplification of the First Degree on Monday, Dec. 18 at the Council quarters when a class of approximately 10 candidates will receive the degree. The Council has already passed its quota for the 1967-68 year, and is still rolling towards the largest membership drive in the Coun cil’s history. An Open House will be held on Monday, Dec. 11. Deputy Grand Knight Robert E. Blum has been named General Chairman of the ‘Design ’69’ Program — a membership recruitment campaign announced by our Supreme Knight at the 85th annual Su preme Convention in Montreal, Canada. The goal is set for 200,000 new Knights during the two-year program to end in 1969. The Jacksonville Council cleared approximately $300.00 towards the Seminarian Fund as a result of its annual Turkey Raffle in which five persons won turkeys, as well as the sellers of the winning tickets. It was the most successful raffle in years. PIEDMONT COUNCIL 939 GREENSBORO: There was a large attendance at the Annual Memorial Mass held on Thanksgiving Day for deceased Brother Knights at Our Lady of Grace Church at 8 a.m. “A Special ‘Thank You’ to Paul and ‘Tootsie’ Nobert for the very fine and enjoyable Pre-Holiday Social Hour that preceded our Columbus Day Dinner Dance.” A financial report shows that “a profit of $150.73 was realized for the William B. The cere mony took place in the chapel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters on Sunday, November 12. The Young Christians pro ceeded into the chapel singing “They Will Know We are Chris tians by Our Love” and placed their Bibles on the1 altar as a symbol of their commitment to study the words of Christ and to listen to Him and then go and witness to all peoples. r ainer Kicnard Holloman ad ministrator at William Gaston High School here, blessed the Bibles and gave a homily con cerning the importance of hear ing the message of Jesus through the study of scripture.
