A man by the name of Perrie T. Dye,
whp calls himself the “Supreme Grand
Master” of the “Globe Free and Ac
cepted Masons,” has organized a lodge
which he calls “Hiram Lodge No. 9,”
and which is said to be meeting in East
Rockingham.
Mr. Dye, whose address is shown as

Dedicate New Temple For
Bladen Lodge No. 646
An Emergent Communication of the
Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Ac
cepted Masons was held in the hall of
Bladen Lodge No. 646, Elizabethtown,
N. C., on Friday, October 9, 1970, at
7:30 P.M., for the purpose of dedicat
ing the new Masonic Temple.

WARSAW MASONIC TEMPLE
Warsaw Dedicates Temple
And Burns Mortgage
The dedication service for the War
saw Masonic Lodge building was held on
Saturday evening, October 10.
M.’.W.’.Maurice E. Walsh of North
Wilkesboro, Grand Master of Masons in
North Carolina, conducted the service.
During the service the burning of the
mortgage was done by Mrs. Kathleen
P. Snyder, Past Matron of Warsaw
Chapter No. 122, Order of the Eastern
Star, and Quincy J. Sutton, Sr., Past
Master and Secretary of Warsaw Lodge
No. 677. Special music was presented
by A1 Smith who was accompanied at
the piano by Mrs. Walter P. West.
The out-of-town guests were Robert
L. Pugh, of New Bern, Past Grand Mas
ter; Berl M. Kahn, of Goldsboro,
Senior Grand Warden; S. Frank Noble,
Jr., of New Bern, Junior Grand Deacon;
R. Pete Dudley, of Raleigh, Assistant
Grand Secretary; William F. Owen of
North Wilkesboro; Norwood P. Parker
of Clinton; J. Luther Powell, Sr., Jim

Cannon Memorial Plans
Ladies Night Banquet

Cannon Memorial Lodge No. 626,
A. F. & A. M. of Kannapolis, N. C., will
hold their 54th Anniversary and Ladies’
Night Banquet on Saturday evening
Nov. 7th at 7:00 o’clock at the Midway
Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on
S. Main St. in Kannapolis.
The Lodge is planning for a gala
event on this occasion. Four members
will be presented 50-year Veterans
emblems and certificates and 30 mem
bers will be presented 25-year pins and
certificates. The program is being built
around the 50-year recipients to a cer
tain extent. We are hoping to have the
best banquet ever this year and all Mas
ter Masons and their families and in
vited guests are urged to got their
tickets as early as possible as only a
limited number can be accommodated
in the Fellowship Hall.

Hanks Lodge 128, Passes

Hanks Lodge No. 128 A. F. & A. M.
Franklinville, North Carolina, mourns
the loss it has sustained in the death of
its most venerable and beloved member.
Brother James Arthur (Dink) Cheek,
who died at the Randolph County Hos
pital, September 15, at age 89.
He was raised to the Sublime Degree
of Master Mason in 1902 at age 21, and
he continued to be a most enthusiastic
member throughout these many years.
To those who knew him, his life was an
exemplification of the precepts taught
in the ritualistic work of the Order.
Brother Cheek was pi’esented a 50-
year continuous membership award at
