The NORTH CAROLINA MASON Official Publication of The Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free & Accepted Masons of North Carolina VOL. XCV, NO. 12 Oxford, North Carolina 27565, December, 1970 ONE DOLLAR A YEAR Maurice E. Walsh A Christmas Message From The GRAND MASTER May we—one and all—put first things first this Christmas and worship GOD with heart and soul and voice. In the disparity of our thinking and our behaving—which has shaken the pillars of our corporate living—it is good that Christmas comes to reclaim our life and our redeem ing. The format of Christmas Day has changed as all dai- 1 y existence i s bound to change in all but the great essentials. The wooden bridge to grandma’s house no longer sounds with metallic hoof- beats. Actually, grandma’s house was torn down to make way for a modern highway long ago and the old meadow is a bustling shopping center. Only the hope survives that home fires still burn brightly in the heart. Still in the tumult and travel too far from quiet home places on the holi day, there should be some room left for remembrance of the old good meaning of the celebration of harvests as the year moves through bright foliage to its end. Yes, at Christmas we take note of our many blessings—our creation and our preservation of all the manifold things which have been bestowed upon us which makes us humbly grateful—of family and friends—of warmth and cheer—of hopes for a better NEW YEAR. It is good but not good enough. Only will it be good enough when we re assemble in heart and mind, at one place and one time; at altar we gather to gether to give praise and adoration for the one single event in human history that binds us together as His frail fam ily of humanity.
