They are W. A. Allman of Zebulon and P. C. Stott of Wendell, both deceased. The Allman-Stott chapter was insti tuted Sunday, January 10, by John A. 3'\Tdery, DeMola^^ executive officer for North Carolina. ' Twenty-nine youths from Pvolesville, Wendell, Archers Lodge, Middlesex, Zebulon and Wake field were initiated into the Order of DeMolay. The degrees were conferred in the Masonic Temple in Raleigh by the Raleigh Chapter, Order of DeMolay. (Continued on Page Two) Pioneer Lodge Installation Aids Home and Orphanage By a. Edward Fey, Sec. This year Pioneer Lodge No. 685 supplemented their usual open installa tion by having a turkey dinner with all the ‘f ixins’, served by the ladies of Cam el Shrine No. 5. After the dinner the 150 members and guests contributed a total of $200 to be presented to the Oxford Orphanage and the Masonic and Eastern Star Home. The members and guests then moved to the large lodge room to be entertained with several renditions by Brother R. R, Triplette on the new Baldwin organ recently donated to the Masonic Temple by Twin City Chapter No. 60, 0. E. S. It was good to see the lodge room nearly filled to capacity for the instal lation of W.'.Brother A. R. Slovenz, Master, and his corps of officers by W.‘. Brother F. W. Waitineck, P. M. Venerable Mason Honored For Fifty Years Of Service In impressive ceremonies recently in Numa F. Reid Lodge No. 344, High Point, M.’.W.'.Arnold J. Koonce, P.G. M., presented to Brother B. G. Leonard a pin and certificate for fifty years of devoted service to Masonry. In addition Brother Leonard was presented a Life Membership in Numa F. Reid Lodge No. 344. Brother Leonard began his Masonic career in June, 1920 and has been active in a phase of Masonry since that time. In addition to the above, the follow- (Continued on Page Two) Greenville Lodge No. 284 Hosts Joint Installation At its regular stated communicatic-u held on Monday, January 4, 1971, Greenville Lodge No. 284 as host lodge was joined by Crown Lodge No. 708 and William Pitt Lodge No. 734 in a joint installation of officers. M.'. W.'. Maurice E. Walsh, Grand Master of Masons in North Carolina was the installing officer. This was an open installation for the families and friends of the officers to be installed. M. originally scheduled to be held in Winston-Salem has been changed to Raleigh, April 20- 21, 1971. The sale of the Robert E. Lee Hotel in Winston-Salem has made this change necessary. Wilmington York Rite Completes Fourth Class By George F. Hunt, Sec.-Rec. The Wilmington York Rite Masonic Bodies completed its fourth class of the year by conferring the Degrees and Orders on a class of nine candidates on Saturday, December 12, 1970. All the degrees and orders were conferred be ginning with the Mark Master at 8:00 A.M. Lunch and dinner were served in the Temple to the candidates and the large number of degree workers pres ent for the occasion. Companion and Sir Knight, Cecil W. Henderson R.M.’.
