Johnston, Jr. (PM-73.5) was thei Dearer of the Constitution, and Paul Etheridge. Jr. (PM- 735) was the Bearer of the Three Great Lights. Past Master Jack Moore welcomed those at tending and Past Master Alexander Holder in troduced the special guests. The Master of the lodge, Harold Jones, ex pressed the Lodge’s appreciation to the Grand Master and others participating in the cere mony. Grand Master Mims congratulated the officers and members of the* lodge upon the progress they were making and told them that he and the other Grand Lodge Officers were happy and proud to be present and partici pate on such an occasion, ^ Organ music during the Ceremony was pro vided by Mrs. C. Roger Morgan and members of the Eastern Star seiwed refreshments fol lowing the dedication. Tremendous strides have been taken by James B. Green Lodge during the six years of its existence. Instituted on October 11, 1965, the lodge was chartered by the Grand Lodge on April 20, 1966 with 37 members. It was Con stituted April 22, 1966 in the temple of MiL brook No. 97 and held its meetings there until moving to the new building on February 23, 1971. James B. Green Lodge, named in honor of an outstanding Wake County Mason, has grown to a^ membership of 120 and demon strates a vitality which bodes well for the future. Grand Master William W. Latham, Recorder DeMolav News On October 27 State Master Councilor Don Etheridge Jr. issued a newsletter remarking upon the tremendous success of the Western District ^^orkshop held in Asheville on October 17 and thanking the Asheville Chapter for hosting the event. Don s next newsletter w’ill contain informa tion concerning DeMolay’s plans to visit Ma sonic & Eastern Star Home in Greensboro the day after Christmas. He urged the Chapters in the state to move decisively in the effort to initiate 653 new can didates before December 31, reminding them that the chapter with the most initiations will be presented the SMC Membership Award of Excellence during the Grand Master’s class in Raleigh on January 15. Work is going forward on plans for a dis trict level organization and Don is seeking ®W8rS6stions and opinions from the various chapters. (Congratulations went to Leaksville Chapter which held its own Grand Master’s Class on October 17, initiating eight new members. The York Rite Masonic Bodies of Washing ton, N.C. held their Tenth Annual Knights Templar Reunion and Ladies Night Banquet on October 20, with more than two hundred Knights Templar and their ladies present. Sir Knight Blake C. Lewis, Jr., son of the Grand King of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter, served as master of ceremonies. Presiding of ficers of local bodies were presented plaques. Service awards, recently distributed for use of the York Rite throughout the state were pre sented to J. Frederick Keyes, Assistant Grand Instructor-Inspector (Eastern Division) of the Grand Commandery; W. Weldon Sullivan, Commander of Calvary Commandery; Sir Knights James P. Askew, Leewood A. Lupton and Marshall E. Bagwell, Jr. Certificates of Honorary Membership were presented to John H. Pierezynski, Grand High Priest; N. Donald Bell, very Eminent Deputy Grand Commander and Illustrius Potentate of Sudan Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. and to Kedar D. Pyatt, Past Grand High Priest and Grand Lec- tuer of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter. George W. Taylor, Past Commander and Treasurer of the local York Rite Bodies presented the awards. Sir Knight Bell, speaker for the event, was introduced by Sir Knight A. Oden Latham, Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandry, Knights Templar of North i Carolina.
