Dean and seven more Grand Lodge officers, with five Past Grand Masters, braved the elements on December 8 to come here and lay the cornerstone for the new administration building at Masonic and Eastern Star Home. A whole lot of rain and some sleet and snow fell before, during and after the ceremony, forcing the Grand Master to perform the an cient function only symbolically, in the chapel. By so doing he was likely responsible for pre venting a general onset of colds, flu and pneu monia among Grand Lodge officialdom and the assembled guests. The metal box which, with assorted contents, was later placed inside the cornerstone, was pressed into service as a stand-in for the stone itself and the cere mony went off quite smoothly. In addition to the Grand Master, the fol lowing Grand Lodge Officers filled their chairs: Deputy Grand Master William L. Mills, Jr., Senior Grand Warden S. Frank Noble, Jr., Junior Grand Warden Hiram J. Casebolt, Grand Treasurer James W. Brewer (PGM), Grand Secretary Charles A. Harris (PGM), Senior Grand Deacon Leslie H. Gar ner and Grand Chaplain I. Boyd Hopkins. (Continued on Page Two) Deputy Grand Master William L. Mills, Jr. and Grand Master Nathaniel C. Dean in East during dedication of Mooresville Lodge 496.
