instill a stage curtain, alsoto enlarge the library with new volumes of books. The meeting to be held May 11 is expected to be an unusual one. Every member is expected to be present; yes, every patron of the school. A special program is being arranged. Special music, special speakers and a good time, with some refreshments, it is hoped. Also new offi cers for the coming year will be elected. Par ents, show your colors and come. -—-o Rev. and Mrs. E. R. Stewart had their first mess of new Irish potatoes April 13. They were from volunteers. -—-o Dr. A. G. Harris has around 1,000 single comb white leghorn pullets. -—o The people all over the county have about completed corn and cotton planting. -—o Truck growing is becoming more popular in Hyde county. -o-— Interest is being revived in all church ac tivities since the weather has moderated and the roads dried up. -o Rev. C., for April 1, 1P28. State of North Carolina ) ) ss. County of Hyde ) Before me, a Notary of Republic in and for the State and county aforesaid, personally appeared Elliott R. Stewart, who having been duly sworn ac cording to law, deposes and says that he is the ed itor, publisher, manager and owner of the Hyde County Messenger, and that the following is, to the best of his knowledge and belief, a true statement of the ownership, management (and if a daily paper, the circulation), etc., of the aforesaid publica tion for the date shown in the above caption, re quired by the Act of August 24, 1912, embodied in section 411, Postal Laws and Regulations, printed on the reverse of this form, to wit: 1. That the two paragraphs next above, giving the names of the owners, stockholders, and security holders, if any, contain not only the list of stock holders and security holders as they appear upon the books of the company but also, in cases where the stockholder or security holder appears upon the books of the company as trustee or in any other fiduciary relation, the name of the person or cor poration for whom such trustee is acting, is given also that the said two paragraphs contain scate ments embracing affiant’s full knowledge and belief as to the circumstances and conditions under which stockholders and security holders who do not appear upon the books of the company as trustees, hold stock and securities in a capacity other than that of a bona fide owner; and this affiant has no reason to believe that any other persons, association, or cor poration has any interest direct or indirect in the said stock, bonds, or other securities than as so stated by him. 5. That the average number of copies of each is sue of this publication sold or distributed, through the mails or otherwise, to paid subscribers during the six months preceding the date shown above is .
