THIS new 1500 watt Delco-Light consists of a four
cylinder engine directly connected to a 1500 watt
generator and is furnished with an 80 A. H. Delco
Light Exide battery, consisting of sixteen 7-plate
glass jar cells.
The storage battery supplies current for cranking
the engine and for the smaller current demands.
The operation of this plant is automatic on all
electrical loads over approximately 250 watts. As
soon as sufficient lights or power appliances are
turned on, the engine automatically starts, thus fur
nishing current directly from the generating unit.
When this heavier current demand ceases, the unit
automatically stops.
Control: Automatic control panel provides
automatic starting and stopping. Battery
furnishes current for generator to crank
engine. Electric governor controls speed
in accordance with electrical load. Choke
control for easy starting.
During the automatic operation of the engine
generator on the power load (over 250 watts) a
trickle charge is going into the battery to keep it in
a charged condition for starting and supplying power
for light loads. This trickle charge is adjustable to
meet the operating conditions in the place in which
this plant is installed.
This combination, automatic, battery charging
Delco-Light is a very efficient and practical electric
plant to take care of all loads up to 1500 watts.
