Do you make it a rule to greet strangers and visitors when you come to church? Do you ever pray for your preacher? Do you ever thank the man or woman who tells the word of God to your boy or girl? Do you ever consider that promoting the church is part of your daily business? Go to Sunday school and church next Sunday. What did Sunday Bring? Did you listen to the worth-while? HOLDING REVIVAL IN SWAN QUARTER BAPTIST CHURCH Beginning Sept. 29, for Two Weeks—Large Attendance Is Expected Rev. John C. Cowell will hold night and day serv ices. We hope to begin the night services at 7:30. Day services will be announced. Evangelist Cowell is only 28 years of age and has been devoting the past six years to revivals. During that time he has conducted or assisted in forty or more revivals, most of them in North Carolina. For nearly all of the past two years he has been actively engaged in young people’s work and was general advance man for the Ham-Ramsey party, with whom he assisted in meetings at Fayetteville, Sumter, S. C.; Decatur, Ala.,; Elizabeth City, Cur lington and Danville, Va. We expect large crowds to attend. HOW TO MAKE THE REVIVAL A SUCCESS Be a prayerful Christian. Always be on time. Ask God to help you sing. Make it a point to attend every meeting. Do not quench the spirit. Be ready to obey at God’s call. When you come, look as though you enjoyed the religion you profess. Shake hands as though it were not a dead fish tail, but as if it were a pleasure. Always be prompt when others are slow in testi lying. Watch for those who raise a hand and are con vinced and follow them up and lead them to Christ. Make it a point to invite your friends to attend the meeting and accept Christ. If you are a Christian, come and bring your un saved friends. If you are not a Christian, come and receive a blessing. We expect people from all over Hyde county to attend this meeting. Bring your attention, sympathies, your smiles and your friends. Come praying, working, with faith and a large ex pectation and God will fill it.
