Robbery suspect being sought
Speedway in Robersonville robbed at gunpoint

ROBERSONVILLE - Police re
sponded to a reported armed
robbery at the Speedway Con
venience Store Sunday after
noon at 4:45 p.m.
According to police, the sus
pect - who remains at large -
was wearing dark clothing and
armed with a handgun. The
suspect entered the store and
demanded money, then fled
with an undisclosed amount
of cash.
The suspect was believed
to be operating a dark color,
newer model sports utility ve
hicle.
No one was injured during

WILLIAMSTON - The Martin-Tyr-
rell-Washington District Health
Department introduced their
newest tool recently at River
side Middle School.
A tour of the Molar Express,
the department’s new mobile
dental clinic, was given prior to
a ribbon cutting.
The mobile clinic is now serv
ing students at Riverside Mid
dle School. Later it will rotate
to Williamston Primary School
and then E.J. Hayes Elementary
School.
Four staff members - some
contract, others MTW - will
man the clinic.

The three seats on the
Martin County Board of
Commissioners will be

missioners - Democrats
Tommy Bowen and
Dempsey Bond and the
board’s only unaffiliated
member, Elmo “Butch”
Lilley. All three have
served multiple terms
on the county board.
Bond filed Monday.
Lilley is not required
to file in December if
he maintains his status
as an unaffiliated candi
date, as he will have to
file via petition.
Kimberly J. Griffin
is the current Mar
tin County Register of
Deeds, having been
elected to her first full
term four years ago.
Griffin filed for re-elec
tion Monday.
Nationally, 2020 is a
presidential election
year, meaning candi
dates for president will
have to file. Republi
