Last Thursday night Paul Brix-
hoff made his “rounds” to say
good-bye to everybody before he
left for Fork Union Military Acad
emy. We sure hate to see Paul
leave, but we hope he’ll come as
often as he can.
Sunday night was “get-together”
night for the Methodist Church
MYF sub-district. Mr. Jim Hen
drix and Mr. and Mrs. James Mar
ion took Helen Boal, Anne Harts-
field, Carolyn Marion, Margaret
Jackson, Samuel Marion, Judy
Collins, Suzanne Davis, and Lois
Hollowell, over to Zebulon for the
meeting. Everyone had a great
time singing, eating, and talking
to old friends. The program was
very interesting. The guest speak
er was from Cuba, and we all en

Communist regime and his escape.
The Dramatics Club has been
selling sweat shirts with the school
seal on them this week. The sale
was a successful one, and the club
hopes to clear about fifty dollars.
The order for the sweat shirts has
been sent, and they should be
here in about three weeks. These
“sharp” shirts will be wonderful
to wear to our football games!
Tonight is our first home foot
ball game of the season. Let’s all
get out our school spirit, and a
warm sweater, and help cheer the
Bulldogs on to a victory.

The Woodland home Demonstra
tion Club met last Wednesday af
ternoon with Mrs. J. P. Bailey.
Mrs. J. E. Davis, Home Manage
ment leader, was in charge of the
program, on “Small Electric Ap
pliances.” She also gave a very
interesting flannel graph demon
stration of beautiful spring and
summer flowers — when to plant
early bulbs and how to plant them.
For refreshments Mrs. Bailey
served Pepsi’s, cup cakes, and
potato chips.
Miss Faye Moody spent the
weekend with her brother, Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Moody of Raleigh.
Mr. and Mrs. Buddie Davis, vi
sited her sister, Mrs. Lorene
Wheelous, Sunday evening.
