Continuous from 1 p.m.) Several weeks ago this column was written about a couple of avid golfers in our golf club but I don’t think any of our members could be a more avid golfer than the gentleman in today’s photo. Mr. M. P. Bridge took up the game of golf just a few years back and has been a fixture at the golf course every since. “Mac” may not have won many large tournaments but )ie still plays a pretty fancy game of golf. Only recently he birdied No. 8 four straight times and at one time he fired a one under par 34 for nine holes. When the photo was made the question came up about his neck tie and Mac assured the photog raphed he was not trying for the best dressed golfer but wore the tie to keep warm. Sounds like a good idea and may start a new fad for golfers. To date we have been unable to get Mrs. Bridge interested in the game of golf but we are still working on her and hope to have her playing before too much longer. John Haithcock, of Raleigh, fired his fifth eagle on our golf course when he eagled No. 8 on his way to shooting a very respectable 78. Howard Lloyd had as his guest his father, Mr. Howard Lloyd, Sr. of New Jersey over the week-end. His father sort of showed Jr. up when he fired an 80 the first time oh the course. Best score turned in for the week was a one under par 69 by Ben Aycock, Jr. followed by an even par 70 recorded by J. C. Keeter and a 38-36 74 turned in by Dewey Wiggins. Ben had an eagle deuce on No. 2. \ R C. Dickerson shot one of his best scores ever when he turned in an 82 and I am sure we will be hearing more from this fellow as the weather warms up. Leon Walters shot an even par 35 for ' nine holes Sunday when he bird- j, led No. 1, Bogied 5, 6, 7 and ' I oagled No. 8. Also on Sunday Sam my Brewer recorded an even par I 70 for the eighteen which turned ' out to be low for the day. P R. Johnston another member I li’oin Raleigh admits that all his I in hereby appointed the Judges of said election. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all persons elegible to vote in the Town, as defined by general law, shall be eligible to register and vote in the election herein called. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Registrar be and she is hereby directed to open the regis tration books for the purpose of recording therein the names of all persons eligible to be register ed who are not now registered to vote in municipal elections. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Registrar shall open said books at 9:00 A. M., on FYiday, April 16, 1965, and shall keep said books open from 9:00 A. M. until 5:00 P. Janis I Underwood turned in the best score for any of the women during the I week and this was a hard earned M. P. (MAC) BRIDGE The annual meeting of the Green Pastures Golf Association was held on February 25 at the Green Hill Country Club, Louisburg. A mo tion was made that the following named men be the ruling body for the forthcoming year: Carl o. MacMillan, president; Massey Fai son of Wendell, vice-president; W. H. Holding, of Wake Forest, sec retary-treasurer; Allen Cooper, of Nashville, board member; Lud- well Barham of Wake Forest, board member; and Ken Isley, of Louisburg, board member. Rules and regulations concerning play were drawn up and the schedule approved which will start March 17, 1965 and will appear in this column next week. The following members attend ed the Monday Eastern Carolina Pro-Am at the Sippihaw Country Club in Fuquay Springs. Twigg Wiggins, Ollie Baker, Phil Lloyd, John Lattimore, Leon Walters^ Dewey Wiggins, Earl Hart, Lud- well Barham, S. W. Brewer, and Tommy Byrne.
