mm' FALLS COMMUNITY NEWS By Mrs. D. P. Jenks Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Griffin, Miss Mable Griffin and Mr. Vernon Griffin of Durham visited Mrs. Mattie Bradly and Miss Mary Thomas in Raleigh last week. Mr. Jimmie Hutchenson of Greensboro visited old friends here at Falls last Sunday. I surely was glad to see Jim. Mrs. Letha Jones of Rolesville spent last weekend here with me. 1 always enjoy having her. We hope all our sick folks will be well soon. Mr. Lessie Merkinson is in Rogers rest home at this time. Go to see him when you can. The Sunay School and BTU pic nic was a big success last Monday. I’m told there was a big crowd there, about 75 or 80. That was fine and brings back old time memories when we use to have picnics on Easter Monday. Re member old timers? How about the time we had goat meat bar becue. That was a mess. Poor little Phylis Smith was sick again this Easter and couldn’t wear her pretty new dress Sunday. Phylis was sick last year and miss ed out on all the fun. Mother, Mary Ann had to stay home with her. Let’s all hope she’ll be well next time. Mrs. H. 0. Young and daughter Betty spent the Easter holidays in Atlanta, Ga. with Mr. and Mrs. \ Johnnie Bagwell and that fine lit tle grandson. j Our sympathy is extended to the I family of Mrs. Lula Clifton who ! died Sunday afternoon at her ’ home here near the Falls. Barham, Sr. who died 'Tuesday morning in the Wake Forest hospital. j Funeral Services Held Wednesday For C. R. Barham C. R. (Clee) Barham, Sr. 79 of Rt. 2, Wake Forest died Tuesday at Wake Forest Branch Hospital following a brief illness. A native and life long resident of Wake County, f he was a retired farmer arid a member of Falls Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lettie B. Barham of Rt. 2, Wake Forest, Mrs. Beatrice B. Carter, Mrs. Rozena B. Watkins and Mrs. Elizabeth B. Leonard, all of Rt. 3, Wake Forest; 7 sons, Lin- wood and Robert Lee Barham, of Rt. 3, Wake Forest, Preston, Clel- lon, David H., and C. R. Barham. Jr. all of Rt. 1, Raleigh, Marvin of Edenton; one sister, Mrs. Re becca B. Jackson, Rt. 3, Wake Forest; 34 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wed nesday from Falls Baptist Church by the pastor, the Rev. Leon Keefe and Rev. Roy Davis. Burial was in Fall cemetery. Ac tive pallbearers were Franklin, Linwood Earl, and Haywood Bar ham, Jerry Carter, Tim Watkins, and Dennis Leonard. She was a native of Wake County and a member of Rolesville Bap tist Church. Surviving are: 3 daughters, Mrs. Ellen Blackley of Route 4, Zebu- Ion, Mrs. Annie Belle Height and Mrs. Beulah Wall, both of Route 2, Wake Forest; 2 sons. Jack of the home and George Clifton of Route 7, Raleigh; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Wiggins of Raleigh and Mrs. Lillian Underwood of Dur ham; one brother, Eberson Wall of Durham; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Willis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leon Keefe officiating. Burial followed in the Clifton family cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Henry Keith, Early Keith, Roy Looper, Jesse Crutchfield, James Williams, Eric Holmes,. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cureton of Wake Forest announce the birth of a son April 19 at the Wake Forest hospital. Mrs. Cureton is the former Wanda Hale. Marilyn Mangum visited Peggy Stevens in Raleigh for the Easter holidays. Rev. and Mrs. 1. T. Stroud had all of their children except Bunny here for Easter. Barham will be guest evangelist for revival serv ices at Six Forks Baptist Church Rt. 1, Raleigh starting Sunday April 25. Services will be at 7:30 each evening through Saturday, May 1.
