IN COLOR
On A 1966 ZENITH
Bobby Kinton, pictured in to
day’s photo, has been the greens
keeper at Paschal Golf Club for
the past several years and it is
about time credit was given where
it is due. The great condition of
the golf course is due to the hard
work put in by Bobby and his as
sistant, June Williams. Without
these two we would probably be
playing in grass knee high and
weeds up over our heads. Bobby
has a couple of irons in the fire
and he is planning to attend State
College beginning with the com
ing semester; that is of course if
Uncle Sam doesn’t send out the
welcome mat before he gets there.
We hate to lose Bobby; so the
board of directors is trying to
work out a schedule where he can
retain his current position at least
on a part time basis. All this work
on the golf course has not cur
tailed Bobby’s golf’'game in the
least bit and he is one of the
better golfers at the club. Cur
rently he is participating in the
club tournament and qualified for
the championship flight He can
knock the tee shot a mile and if
he can get his chipping and putting
under control might just surprise
somebody in the coming matches.

BOBBY KINTON
Pro Wade Briggs along with
Sammy Brewer and Ben Aycock,
Jr. attended the pro-am last week
at White Lake. This three-some
came out in the money placing in
lira
the top teams competing. Wade
along with Richard Lee played
Monday and Tuesday in the pro-
am being held in Fuquay Springs.
Unfortunately they were unable to
do much good in this tournament
as Richard Fired a 78-74 and Wade
shot 76-70. Richard was all primed
for the tournament when he shot
a 30-34 64 six under par on the
local course last Thursday but just
couldn’t get his game going at Fu
quay. On Sunday Lewis pleasants
fired the best round of his long
and illustrious career when he
shot a 42 for nine holes.
