Methodist-Episcopal Bible School Will Close With Picnic Vacation Church School for the Methodist and Episcopal Churches will close with a picnic supper at the Wake Forest Methodist Church Sunday evening, June 18, at 5; 30 p. m. There will be informal sharing with parents and friends at this time. All parents with children in Vacation Church School, friends, and church members of both churches are urged to come, and bring a picnic supper and tea. Roosevelt Avenue Mrs. Ora D. Woodlief, 66, died Tuesday afternoon at her home. Route 1, Wake Forest following a long illness. Mrs. Wodlief was a native and lifle-lbng resident of Wake County, a daughter of the late William H. Davis and Addie Garrett Davis, and a member of New Light Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Ju lian Woodlief of the home; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Hudson, Jr. of Route 1, Wake Forest; one grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Tharrington of Franklinton, Mrs. Mozelle Adams of Creedmoor, and Mrs. Alma Allen of Route 3, Wake Forest; several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conduct ed Thursday afternoon at three o’clock from New Light Baptist Church with the Rev. Rudolph Pul ley and the Rev. Garland Jacobs officiating. ' Burial will follow in the Free Will-Free Union Ceme tery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. J. W. Hudson, Route 1, Wake Forest. The pall-bearers will be Steve Ray, Nathaniel Perry, Robert Lee Ray, Bervin Woodlief, Edward Harp, Wesley Hodge, James L. Estes and Charles Smith. Donald S. Boal Donald S. Boal was commission ed Ensign in the US Navy Supply Corps. He has left for Supply Corps school at Athens. Ga. for 6 months school. Along with the commissioning, he also received his B.S. in Business Administra tion at the University of North Carolina at'Chapel Hill. Don, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Boal, is a graduate of Wake For est High School. Betty Franklin May Betty Franklin May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. May of Route 1, 'Franklinton, was gradu ated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on Sunday, June 4 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secretarial Administra tion. ' While at UNC-'G,, .she was a member of Freshmen Cabinet, Young Democrats Club, Intervar- Fellowship, and Anne Tull Anne Tull, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James E. Tull of Wake For est, was graduated from the Uni versity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an A. B. degree, with a double major in Psychology and English. She entered UNC her ju nior year, after two years at West- hampton, the Women’s Division of the University of Richmond. At Carolina she was member of I’m Mu sorority. For the last two years, at UNC, she has worked m psychology at John Umstead Ih ' pital in Butner. In the summer of 1965 she attended the University of California at Berkley, and in 1966 summer school at the Univer sity of Houston, Houston, TeNu- This summer she will be in F.ii.,- land. Poerschke of Wake Forest, graduated June 4 from Furman University, in Greenville, S. C. She received a B. A. degree with a major in history and is planning to teach this fall. Miss Estelle Cole was completely “llabbecg^stad” Sat urday night when a nice group of her friends came a-calling, iaJen with birthday gifts! It was her birthday, but she didn’t expect a party. There was a real pretty cake, punch, nuts and mints be sides iriany really lovely gifts. No one in the family knew about it. Marcia Pearce had arranged for the entire family to be surprised. Mrs. Bobby Tilley was honored at a stork shower on Saturday night. She was showered with pretty little things for the expect ed arrival of a wee one. Mrs. Tommy Woodlief was guest of honor at a stork shower Satur day night also. Besides lots of pretty presents for the new baby, there will be a new house for him to visit. Grandpa and Grandma Woodhefj .a[re bu|ildinjg a pretty new home on U. S. 1 A North. May be they will have the new house and the new grandbaby ail about the same time. Poor Alice Cole — sno had to come back to Wake Fore.st in.stead of making her trip to New Yoik City. She was with the Leland Mabreys in Amelia, Va. for Janie’s graduation but her bursitis pre vented the N. Y. trip. Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Pearce went for her on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Dixon, Dale and Yvonda, Mr. and Mrs. Max Jarrell, Kathy, Robbie and Joanna and Miss Renda Griffin left Sun day afternoon for days of fun at Wrightsville Beach. (So far, they are surely having nice weather). Mrs. Albert Wadford is spend ing this week in Clifton Forge, Va. with her sister. On Saturday Mrs. Oma Wadford enjoyed the trip to take her there. She and Albert re turned late Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. Richard Bray and Mr. Bray’s parents of Weems, Va. stopped by for a short visit with Mrs. Oma Wadford. He was en- route home following a Miami va cation. Mr. and Mrs. David Watts of Norfolk were in Wake Forest with the Sanford Wrights this weekend. Mr. Watts has to report for duty with the army and Jeaneane ex pects to live in Wake Forest. We’re sorry about the circumstanc es, but happy to have her back. Little Miss Joy Edwards en joyed having her. cousin, little Miss Diane Leonard from Rolesville as her weekend guest. Hats off to Mike Privette. He has finished 4 years in school and hasn’t missed a day yet. And in addition, he got all A’s on his re port card — fine fellow. Mrs. Lillie Ann Jordan, Mrs. Ruby Wise and Mrs. Jim Hen dricks all had surgery at Wake Forest Hospital last week, but are all doing fine at home now. Mr. Buck Perry is home' for 30 days from Germany. We hope he bas a real good time! And Dwight Faison is home from his duty in Vietnam. After his leave in July, he wil be sent to California.
