C., Thursday, December 18,1975 17 Rolesville radar equipped, ready The operational license has been received, warning signs are up in Rolesville, and the town’s new speed radar unit will soon be used to catch speeders, according to Police Chief Louis Pearce. Pearce said he had not formally used the unit for evidence because he had not yet obtained the license. “Although I have yet to give any tickets because of the radar, I have already seen a decrease in the amount of speeding because of the warn ing signs,” Pearce said. The town received the radar from the state, which is supplying them to as many police departments as it can upon request. The unit mounts in the window of a car with the speed registering on a screen on the dash. It can clock the speed of a car going in either direction. Pearce took special training in use of the equipment this spring in Wake Forest.
