Travis Scott tour is
coming to Raleigh

One of the benefits
of going to college here
in the capital of North
Carolina is that there is
always a lot to do off-
campus. Next month,
multiple Grammy nomi
nee and Houston rapper
Travi$ Scott will be com
ing to the PNC Area.,
Scott's concert tour,
entitled "Astroworld:
Wish You Were Here,"
will start at 7:30 p.m. on
November 9 and will in
clude Sheck Wes, Gunna,
and Triple Redd.
Tickets range from
$26 for seats to $230 for
floor tickets.

a few weeks." Hunter
said. "I'm so excited for
the concert because it

Imani Prince-Gay, a
sociology major, also
plans to go. "I've been
saving my money for
weeks now just to get
the best seats," Prince-
Gay said. "This is my
third concert seeing Tra
vis and it's never like the
others. He always some
thing new to the stage -
every time."

SAU and five other universities take part
in celebration at governor’s mansion
Saint Augustine's was among six
local universities talking part in th
50th anniversary celebration of Co
operating Raleigh Colleges at the
governor's mansion Sept. 24. The
CRC is a nonprofit consortium that
links the six institutions to one an
other and to the community.
SAU was well represented at the
event, which included a number
of officials such as Raleigh Mayor
Nancy McFarlane.

The events from the first weekend
of Homecoming are just to get things
warmed up. The events continue
throughout the week.
There is a pumpkin painting contest
on Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the cafeteria
where students can be creative and
get into the fall spirit. Meanwhile later
Tuesday night it's time to Turn Up with
the Greeks with a silent headphone
party were students can personally
listen to whatever music they want - a
new way to turn the party up.
Wednesday, Oct, 17, is the 1867
Break: Falcon Frenzy from 11 A.M. to
2 P.M. It's a student reunion! Mix and
mingle with fellow Falcons along with
music by Brian Dawson and Wade
Banner of WQOK 97,5 FM. Like other
events, this everit afso has a larger
purpose; attendees are encouraged
to support Breast Cancer Awareness
month by wearing pink and denim.The
event will be held at the Martin Luther
King Mall.
Later that afternoon, our Lady Fal
cons from all years will be compete in a
powder puff game out on the quadran
gle. May the best class win! The game
will be from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M.
On Thursday, Oct. 18, the 2018-
2019 Mister 8( Miss Saint Augustine's
University Coronation takes place. The
most elegant time of the year, his event
recognizes our university's Royal Court,
clubs and organizations. It is definitely
a night to remember and honor the
people who make our campus great.
The event will be held in the Julia Ches
ter Emery Gymnasium at 7 P.M.
The week continues Friday with
the Blue White Experience (BWE)
Yardfest - an all-day interactive event
for students including vendors, food,
merchandise and music right at the
quadrangle from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. Af
terward, catch the Greeks at the Step
Show battle it out to claim the win.
That is one of the most exciting
events for Ellis Hill, a senior business
ajor. "It's the most lit event and the en
ergy is contagious," he said.
Homecoming wraps up Saturday,
Oct. 20. The day begins with the BWE
Falcon Village Pre-Game Celebration
from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. in the quad
rangle where Falcons can start prepar
ing their team spirit for the game with
Fayetteville State University Broncos.
Tailgating stars as early as 7 A.M.
The football game will start at 1 P.M.
at the George "Pup" Williams Athletic
Complex. The general admission fee is
$30.
The week will wrap up with BWE
Falcon Village Post-Game Celebration
in the quadrangle at featuring go-go/
funk band EU, and special guests from
the Atlantic records HBCU tour.
"I am excited to see the undergrads
and alumni come together for the tail
gate, said Mattie Rainey, a junior mass
communication major. "I really enjoy
the food and the game t believe that's
the best part about Homecoming."
