Community Connections, August, 1991 Page 9 The Sports Page Women's Softball Season Ends The Asheville Parks and Recreation Women’s Softball summer season has drawn to a close. Participating in the "B" league were two teams made up of some of our favorite Asheville women. Dr. Michelle Greenspan’s Biltmore Chiropractic sponsored one team, while the second was sponsored by Orange Street Recovery Center, Janeal Quinnell, Director. Both teams deserve much applause for slugging out the long season, playing twice weekly throughout. New to the softball circuit, both teams played valiantly and, more importantly, had a great time. Orange Street 1991 Women's Softball Team Boxer's Sweeps Pride Tourneys Both the Pride Cup Volleyball Tournament held Sunday, June 16, during the WNC Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival in Asheville and the Raleigh Volleyball Tournament held Sunday, June 30, in connection with the NC Pride Celebration were won by Boxer’s. Boxer’s is a team sponsored by Boxer’s Nightclub in Durham. ▼ Biltmore Chiropractic 1991 Women's Softball Team 3rd row: Kim W., Teri G., Elaine F.; 2nd row: Janet H., Michelle G., Pat H., Kay B.; 1st row: Pam R., Jeannie W., Devan M., JoAnnah M.
