36 APPOINTMENTS (cont’d) JAMES S. HILLMAN has been appointed chief draftsman in the Technical Department of the Fine Paper and Film Group. He was employed by Olin’s Winchester- A/estern Division at New Haven, Conn., in July 1952 and trans ferred to the Film Division at Pisgah Forest in 1959. He was de signer estimator prior to becom ing chief drafts man. He is a na tive of New Haven where he grad uated from Hillhouse High School. He served with the U. S. Marine Corps for three years. Scholarship Winners Dalton The Olin nursing scholarship selection committee has chosen Mary Elizabeth Neal (daughter of William Bert Neal of Ecusta Paper Division’s Machine Room, and Mrs. Neal) and Deborah K. Dalton (daughter of Billy Ned Dalton of Film Division's Finishing Depart ment, and Mrs. Dalton) for scholar ships beginning the 1975-76 school year. Miss Neal, a graduate of Brevard High School, has enrolled in the four-year nursing program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Miss Dalton grad uated from West Henderson High School and is in training at the Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte. The scholarship committee, all out side Olin, represents the Transyl vania Health Department, the Trans ylvania County School system, the Transylvania Medical Society and the Transylvania Ministerial Asso ciation. CLARENCE W. RAMER has been appointed the Technical designer/estimator of Brevard, he in Department of the Fine Paper and Film Group. He was employed in May 1962 as a draftsman in the Ecusta Paper Division’s Engi neering Depart ment. He had served as chief draftsman prior to his recent change. A native graduated from DR. WALTER E. COLE has been appointed director of process eng ineering in the Technical Depart ment of the Fine Paper and Film Group. With Olin since July 1974, he previously worked with Con tinental Can Co. College where at Danville, III., and E. I. duPont at Richmond, Va., Clinton, Iowa and Nash ville, Tenn. He is a native of Hun ter, Ark., and completed public schooling at Cotton Plant, Ark., before en tering Arkansas ; earned his B. S. degree in Chemistry. He received his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Organic Chemistry at Vanderbilt University where he served on the Chemistry Department faculty for three years. While in college he was president and vice president of Sigma Tau Gamma social fra ternity, president and program chairman of the Y.M.C.A., and member of the Student Government Council, the Honorary Leadership Society and the Inter-Fraternity Council. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi honorary research society, and is a Fellow in the American Insti tute of Chemists. He has worked with the Community Chest, inde pendent political organizations aimed at better government, Plans for Progress, and the National Alliance of Businessmen. He served with the U. S. Air Force during World War II. HARRY H. WARREN, JR., has been shift supervisor in Brevard High School and attended Brevard College before entering Western Carolina University where he received his B. S. degree in Business Administration. He be ¬ longed to the U. S. Army Reserve for six years. promoted to the Finishing Department of the Ecusta Paper Di vision. He was promoted to fore man approximate ly two years ago after having serv ed as relief fore man. He was employed by Olin in July 1965. A native of Henderson County, he attended West Henderson High School and Brevard College. He served with the U. S. Army for two years. J. RON BREWER has been promoted to materials manager in Film Di vision’s plant at Pisgah Forest. He joined Olin in August 1969 as sales fore casting and in ventory control specialist. He was named plan ning associate a short time I later, and was inventory mana ¬ ger at the time of this appointment. Born in Paris, Tenn., where he completed school, he earned his B. S. degree in Business Adminis tration at Tulsa University where his major was marketing. He was vice president of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
