They are members of Boy Scout Troop 72 of Skyland, Brian Fuller, second from the right, is the son of John Fuller of Accounting. Other Scouts in the photo are Paul Coggins, Bob Weinkle, Eric Morrison, David Reynolds, Andy Young, Chip Cook and Alton Malbon. APPOINTMENTS THOMAS W. SOUTHER has been appointed assistant pulp mill sup erintendent in the Ecusta Paper Division. He had served as area supervisor in Pulp Mill for the past two years. Employed by Olin in March, 1955, as a digester helper in the Pulp Mill, he was pro moted to shift foreman in 1967 and to area super visor in 1973. He had been with the former Ecusta Pa per Corp, before entering the U. S. Navy in World War II, and after service worked with Lampley Motor Co. in Hender sonville. He is a native of Brevard and a graduate of Mills River High School. Qualified as a fire fighting instructor, he has served as as sistant chief and secretary of the Mills River Volunteer Fire Depart ment. He is a member of the Mills River Lions Club. *** WAYNE E. DARE has been pro moted to maintenance foreman in the Film Division plant at Coving ton. He joined the Olin plant in April 1956 after having worked for duPont on con struction of Film Division's second cellophane plant. After training at Pisgah Forest he worked as coat ing operator for three years be fore moving in to the Mainten ance Department in 1959. Earlier work was with the Chicago and East Illinois Rail road. A native of Gessie, Ind., he graduated from high school at Perry ville, Ind. and studied at the Com mercial Trades Institute in Chicago. He completed 10 years of service in the U. S. Naval Reserves. GERALD L. DAVENPORT has been appointed marketing services man ager in the Film Division. He was employed in No vember 1971 as customer service manager for do mestic sales, and later was given re sponsibility for export orders. Since January 1973 he also has been responsible for the Informa tion Services of fice in the Sales Department. Pre vious work was with the Monsanto Co. in Greenville, S. C. and Pensa cola, Fla. He completed Yellville High School in his native Yell ville, Ark., and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S. degree in Personnel Administration and Industrial Relations. He served with the U. S. Navy for four years. CAROLYN C. SHIPMAN has been promoted to customer service supervisor for printing paper sales in the Ecusta Paper Division. Mrs. Shipman, a native of Brevard, worked briefly in Ecusta’s Rod De partment before transferring to the Quality Control Department in October 1962. She moved to the Customer Ser vice Department in July 1973 for assignment as a customer service assistant. She formerly worked at Pat’s Shoe Store and Cas sell’s Store in Brevard. She is a graduate of Brevard High School. Mrs. Shipman is a member of Glen Cannon Country Club. ***
