UNION VOTE Non-exempt salaried employees at Pisgah Forest voted December 16 not to affiliate with the United Paperworkers International Union (AFL-CIO). Of a total 256 votes cast in the National Labor Relations Board election, 158 votes were for non representation, 87 votes were for unionization, two ballots were voided, and nine were challenged. The challenged votes, having no influence on the outcome of the election, were allowed to stand. All but four of the 260 eligible employees voted in the election. Agreement for the election was reached November 18 at an NLRB conference which had been called in response to a petition for elec tion filed by the union October 27. Voting was by secret ballot.
