Employed by Olin in September 1 969 as acting manager of coating de velopment, he soon became sen ior research as sociate, and later was promoted to quality projects manager. He had worked with West inghouse Electric Co. and E. I. du- Pont de Nemours & Co. before join ing Olin. He graduated from South- west High School in his native St. Louis and earned his B. S. degree in Chemical Engineering at Vander bilt University. Following service with the U. S. Navy during World War II, he returned to Vanderbilt for his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering. He was an instructor for one year with the Vanderbilt faculty. He has been elected to Tau Beta Pi honorary engi neering fraternity, Engineering Who’s Who and Who’s Who in the South. He has served as chairman of the Nashville and Western North Carolina chapters of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and is currently director and mem bership chairman of the organiza tion’s Forest Product Division. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Ameri can Society for Quality Control, and is a former member of the Amer ican Welding Society and the Amer ican Society of Metals. WILBUR F. BOSWELL, III, has been named business manager for rein forced (RC) cellophane. He had served as director of business plan ning in the Film Division. He joined Olin in December 1971 as film plan ning associate, was appointed new business project manager in Febru ary 1973, and be DR. WILLIAM K. LAUTNER has been appointed manager of Film quality control and manager of qual ity assurance for both Film and Ecusta Paper. Prior to this move came director of business planning the following De cember. Earlier work was with Thiokol Fibres Canada Ltd. at Brantford, On- tarioe, and W. R. Grace and Co. at Brantford and at Duncan, S. D. He attended schools in his native Decatur, Ala., and graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. degree in Industrial Manage ment. He served with the U. S. Navy for four years. LAWRENCE H. STAPLES was ap pointed vice president for marketing in reorganization of the Ecusta Pa per and Film Group October 29. He had led the Ecusta Paper Division since April 1972. Starting with Ecusta in May 1960 as market an alyst, he held successive positions in the two divisions and the group. He was named group manager of special projects in 1967 and the next year was appointed direc tor of new bus iness planning and development. He was educated at Thomas Jef ferson School in St. Louis and Harvard Univers ity. He received his Master's degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He served three years with the Army Finance Corps. He is a native of Ardmore, Okla. *** ROBERT J. NICHOLSON, JR., has been employed by Olin Corporation as senior internal auditor based at Pisgah Forest. Prior to joining Olin he was a senior accountant in the Charlotte office of Arthur Young and Company. Born in Brevard where he attended schools, he is an honor grad uate of the Uni versity of Tenn essee where he majored in Ac counting. He par ticipated in the Reserve Officers Training Program and is a first lieu tenant in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is a certified public accountant and is a member of the North Carolina Association of CPA’s and the National Associa tion of Accountants.
