23 ROBERT H. MASENGILL has been promoted to director of manufac turing for Ecusta Paper. He had served since June 1974 as Ecusta’s assistant director of production. With Olin since June 1961 when he joined Ecusta’s Industrial Engi neering Depart ment, he has served as super visor of employee, services, manager of industrial en gineering, and manager of main tenance and util ities. In June 1974 he was named manager of Ecusta’s Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities Depart ment, and a year later became as sistant director of production. He graduated from Demopolis High School in his native Demopolis, Ala., and earned his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering at the Uni versity of Alabama. He was a mem ber of Alpha Pi Mu honorary fra ternity, Kappa Alpha social fratern ity, and was vice president of the student chapter of the American Institute of Engineers. He grad uated last April from the Executive Program of the School of Busi ness Administration at the Univers ity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served four years with the U. S. Navy as a jet pilot. THOMAS H. CRAWFORD has been appointed employee relations super visor in the Employee and Com munity Relations Department. He joined Olin in November 1965 after four years of service with the U. S. Navy. He began work as employee insurance super visor and in 1971 was named em ployee benefits supervisor. A na tive of Knoxville, he was educated in public schools at Maryville, Tenn., and grad uated with a B.A. degree in Economics from Mary ville College where he was a mem ber of the basketball team. At grad uation he was awarded the Bank of Maryville Business Administration Award. He completed N. C. State University's “The Art and Science of Professional Supervision,” one of several developmental courses since joining Olin. F. GERALD HENSLEY has been ap pointed senior accountant in the Accounting Department. He joined Olin in August 1961 and served in the credit and payroll departments before transfer ring to general ac counting in 1968. He was accoun tant in both Film and Ecusta finan cial analysis, and was senior cost accountant for Ecusta prior to this promotion. He graduated from Brevard High School in his native Brevard and entered Western Carolina Uni versity’s In-Service program. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Bus iness Administration. Hensley is a member of the National Association of Accountants and has served as assistant director of various posts and currently serves as communi cations director. *** DR. DONALD W. MONK has been promoted to manager of Ecusta Paper area engineers. He joined Olin in October 1967 as a senior research chemist and was promoted to re search associate in 1971. Three years later he was appointed project manager in the Product and Pro cessimprovement Section of the Technical Depart ment. A native of Newport News, Va., he earned his B. S. degree in Chemistry at Randolph Macon College and his Ph.D. degree at Vir ginia Polytechnic Institute. He was vice president of Phi Lambda Up- silon honorary chemical society and was listed in American Men and Women of Science. He was a post doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Colloid and Surface Science, Clarkson College of Tech nology. He is a member of Sigma Xi honorary research society and has served as secretary-treasurer of the American Chemical Society’s Western Carolinas Section. PAMELA YVONNE McCRARY has been employed as an Ecusta man agement trainee. She is a recent graduate of Wes tern Carolina Uni versity where she earned a B.S. de gree in Busi ness Administra tion. She was a campus radio an nouncer, a mem ber of the Order of Diana social club and Judicial Court, and par ticipated in intermural swimming and softball. A native of Miami, Fla., she graduated from Miami Coral Park High School. *** THOMAS S. HELMS, JR., has been promoted to quality control manager for Ecusta Paper, quality control He has served as supervisor since October 1974. Employed in Feb ruary 1968 as en gineer in Ecusta’s Research and De velopment De partment, he later worked as super visor of the de partment’s physi cal testing labora tory, as assistant manager of test ¬ ing services, and as project man ager. Prior work was with Morgan Manufacturing Company at Black Mountain. A native of Suffern, N. Y., he graduated from high school at Mahwah, N. J., and entered North Carolina State University where he earned his B.S. degree in Wood Science. He was “Big-4” archery champion during each of his four years of college and was a student instructor of gymnastics and arch ery. He also participated in hand- ball, track and swimming. A member of the North Carolina National Guard for nine years, he also belongs to the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, the Na tional Archery Association and the National Guard Association.
