Wallace, vice president for manufac turing, following the ratification of the contract October 1. The contract be came effective October 2 with an immediate wage hike of 53 cents per hour for all hourly job classifications and improvements in insurance, den tal insurance, pensions, vacations, shift differentials and others. Fifty- three cents is 10 per cent of the average straight time hourly rate at Pisgah Forest. Additional 10 per cent increases will become effective October 3, 1978, and October 3, 1979, plus additional benefit improvements in the second and third years of the contract.
