/ fRA^'S HORN BLASTS. (runiag Not es Calliac the Wicked to — Kepentance. .*4. OUNG lions are often very lean. Getting the big . bead, shrinks the heart. There is no suf fering like the * c r uciflxion o f love. Nothing is so destructible a s the ' peace of Christ. The fears we borrow are the hardest to drive away.' f Whenever the flesh is on the throne, the devil is king. i Unless you want to be pofir, don’t try to keep all you get. ■ The tnan will always be busy who truly follows Christ. ‘ The devil lias no better helper than a harmless looking lie. i It is harder to dine with some men than it is to fast alone. I We are rich, not in what we have, but In what we cannot lose. [ Is there anything the devil can’t make out of an envious man? i Live to do good, and you will never tire of your employment. ■ When you pray for a revival, don’t go to church with a long face. f The more men disappoint us, the more we should have faith in God. » f When a li ttle man is gifted up, every body finds cut that he Is little. I The man who thinks he knows others, is a great stranger to himself, i The man who would be considered wise often turns out to he otherwise, i Do away with a personal devil, and there is no need of a personal Christ, j It is a m istake to call anything suc cess that is not according to God’s plan, r If you knew that fo-morrow would be your last day, how would you spend this? * ' 11 There are some very important les .bohs which can only be learned from a mistake. ' 1 It is doubtful if there is any man who : has not at some time in his life been a hypocrite. « j- The man who has lived only for him self has wasted his time and robbed the woijjd. -T- ^ j' There can be no true and abiding comfort and peace^that is not rooted and grounded in faith. I The man who has never used his eyes to consider the mercies of God, has used them to small purpose, h Turning a mad dog loose is a trifling thing, compared to what the devil can do with a gossiping tongue. *’ In the very same breath with which Jesus said, “Let not your heart be trou bled,” he also said, “Believe.” ! The man who refuses to walk in the light as God" gives it, has only himself to blame for what happens in the dark. f Do good as often as you have oppor tunity, and the Lord will see to it that your time and talonts are well employ -edr-* I There was weeping at the grave of JLazarus, but everybody threw a stone at the place where Absalom was bur led. The “slight oough ” is somewhat like the small pebble that lies on the mountain fcidc, and appears utterly insignificant. A flutterimr bird, perhaps, starts the pebble rolling, and the rolling pebble begets an avalanche that buries a town. Many fatal diseases begin with a slight cough. Ayer Co., Lowell, Hass, WHAT POSTPONED THE TRIP TO HOT * SPRINGS. From the Tribune, OuUman, Ala. Two well known ladies of Holly Pond, Cullman County, Alabama, are the Misses H. A. and M. F. Shepard, and they are hold in tho highest esteem. Two years ago, Miss M. F. Shepard, was stricken with terrible sickness, from whioh she suffered long. The history of tho case is so Interesting that we publish the lady’s own Torsion as it is every way worthy of perusal: “Two years ago last February, I was stricken with a terrible pain around my heart, whioh prostrated mo for hours, and from then on I grew weaker until spring, when from impaired circulation and impov erishment of the blood, a stomach difficulty set in, bloating my body fearfully. Of course I was confined to my bed and to add to my sorrows a general attack of rheumatism fot lowed, so that motion was painful, and loco motion impossible. “Several physicians were consulted but they gave me no relier, until tbo last came, whoso helped my stomach difficulty, that after several months I was able to sit up. Tho rheumatism, however, stubbornly stayed, and I was advised that my only hope was the Hot Springs of Arkansas. I was preparing to make the Journey, when 1 was recommended to try Dr. Williams’ PinkPllls. “During my illness. I had taken two boxes of these self same pills, but not in the way reoomnjended, as I was taking other reme dies. Now though, I determined to try them properly, as I was no longer under a physi cian’s care, and could do as I pleased, and my sister, Miss H. A. Shepard, at my request, ordered six boxes of Pink Pills for me, as I could not leave the house and could only hobble with the aid of crutches. “By the time 1 bad finished the pills, I had given up orutohes, though I was still almost a skeleton from the ordeal through which 1 had passed. 1 am now quite flashy, and tho only agent that has oansed the change is Dr. Williams’ Pink Pills, for I used no other medicine. My right hand is still drawn so that I can only use the thumb and first fin ger, and my baok is still lame, but I am In better health than for many years. None of my friends expected me to live, and at one time it was feared my reason was giving way. I do not know how to pay a suffi ciently high tribute to Dr, Williams’ medi oine. It is, I believe, the grandest blood medioine that was ever prepared. “Now, having stated my own oase, let me refer to my sister, Miss H. A. Shepard, who had a seirrhous growth on her right temple. This was terribly Inflamed and spreading so fast, that I prevailed upon her to order five dol irs' worth of Dr. Williams’ Pick Pills, andr test their virtue as a blood cleaner, as the only means of arresting the rapid growth of the cancer. This she did, and has taken about Seven of the boxes, and is still taking them. The sore has stopped spreading, and appears to be healing. When she began to take the pills she was the thinnest living be ing I ever saw that could move about. Now She has gained in flesh, her skin has re gained its normal appearanoe, and she Is stronger, and her general health is better than it has been in many years. God grant she may be spared the horrible death with which she was threatened. My sister’s case, more than my own, has induced me tb write this statement, in order that it may be made densed form, all the elements necessary to give new life and riohness to the blood and restore shattered nerves. They are also a specific for troubles peculiar to females, such as suppressions, irregularities and all forms of weakness. They build up the blood, and restore the glow of health to pale and sallow cheeks. In men they effect a radical cure in all oases arising from mental worry, over work or excesses of whatever nature. Pink Pills are sold in boxes (never in loose bulk) at 60 cents a box or six Doxes for $2.60, and may be had of all druggists, or direct by moll from Dr. Williams’ Medicine Oompany, Schenectady, N. T. public. “H. F. Shbpiid, ) “Cullman Co., Alabama.” (lams’ Pink Pills contain, in a con McKinley’s Inauguration.
