Dear Endeavorers and Workers: You are no doubt aware of the tact that the Y. C. E. Societies of the A. M. E. Zion Church hav& entered upon a new field of Chris tian activity. As Christian En deavorers, true and loyal to every interest of our Zion, intensely zealous and interested in the on ward march of the blessed King dom of Christ, we wish to re consecrate ourselves to the services oi our .Lord and Master for the special work of Missions. We feel called to a wider and more extensive field of operation. C. E., as you know, is pre-eminently a missionary movement. We have simply found our place upon thn broad arena of Christian service and make our appeal for $5,000. This should be a special object of prayer. Don’t say it can’t be done, for it can. All that is needed is a willing mind backed up by a strong determination. How much will 'ycm give toward this amount as an individual ? Let each one ask him or herself this question; ask it in the name of humanity: ask it in the presence of God and you will no doubt be able to give a favorable answer. Just try it. We must have $5,000 as a Missionary Offering Jto the Twentieth Century. “ Pass it on ; ring out the glad cry—-.a $5,000 offering to the Twentieth Century. ” ~ Let each member pledge themselves to give 1 cent per week as a free will offering for. missions. Send for a copy of our plans for this purpose. They will be sent free to every V. C. E. that encloses 2-cent stamp for postage. Now, dear friends, let each one of us bestir ourselves as never before. Let Zion's watch men all awake and take the alarm: “The world for Christ and as much of it as possible for Zion.” Let there be Twentieth Century Mission Clubs organized in every Church. Yours for Christ and the Church. Send all moneys to Rev. Jesse B. Colbert, General Secretary of Missions, 1114 6th Street, N. W., Washing ton, D. C. Pay Attention to Business. If the Negro will devote as much at tention to how he may win the white man’s friendship as he does to how much he can hate the white man, the problem is half solved, and if he will then devote as much attention to the establishment of business enterprises and scientific farming as he does to es tablishing churches, the other half is solved. The Negro is not playing fool any longer. Make a note of this, some of you would-be leaders. T. McCants Stewart, of Brooklyn, N. Many able addresses were made. According to statistics the colored people of the United States are paying taxes on $364,000,000 worth of property. Dallas, Texas, has a Negro popula tion of 10,000, a dozen Negro grocery stores, and a half hundred colored men engaged in other different busi ness pursuits. “All over the South wealth, educa tion and general progress can be noted. The South is the battle ground where the Negro is destined to reach the high est plane of progress.’’—Bishop George W. Clinton. The raoe problem must be attaoked from the white man’s side. Th£ LOGICAL TREATMENT is the use of a remedy that will build up the syst em, thereby enabling the various, organs to act as Mature intended they should. Such a remedy is found in Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People > Mere is the proof* In Detroit there are few soldiers more popular and efficient than Max , R. Davies, 5rst sergeant of Co. B. His home is at 416 Third Avenue. For four years re was a bookkeeper with the wholesale drug house of Farrand, Williams ik Clark, aud he says: “I have charged up many thousand orders for Or. Williams’ Pink Pills for Pale People, but never knew their worth until I used them for the cure of chronic dyspepsia. For two yean I suffered and doctored for that aggravating trouble but could only b« helped temporarily. , “I think dyspepsia is one of the most stubborn of ailments, and there ia scarcely a clerk or office man but what is more or less a victim. Some days I co ild eat anything, while at other times I would be starving. Those distressed pains would force me to quit work. I have tried many treatment:, and remedies but they would help only for a time. A friend induced me to try Dr. Williams’ Pink Pills for Pale People, and after tak ing a few .loses I found much relief and after using several boxes I waa cured. I know these pills will cure dyspepsia of its worst form and I am pleased to .recommend them.”—Detroit (Mich.) Journal.
