The Kingdom Is Coming

Hark the trumpet blasts are sounding,
Till they fill both earth and sky ;
Lo, the sons of God are gathering
For the battle that is nigh.
With their banners to the breezes flung,
And their armor gleaming bright,
They are marching, they are coming,
They are eager for the fight.
Who shall stay their onward movement?
Or shall bid them sound retreat ?
They have set their hearts on victory,
They shall never know defeat.
Rides the Lord himself before them,
Girt with sword on his thigh,
At the shining of his kingly face,
All his enemies must fly.
Hail we, then, the royal Leader,
Cheer we all the valiant host ;
With uplifted hearts and voices
Let us wake rejoicing, boast ;
For the day of days is dawning,
And the Kingdom is at hand,
While the glory that the prophets sung,
Spreads its brightness over the land.
