LETTER FROM BROTHER
FRANK.
To the North Carolina Conference
in Session in Jarvis Memorial
Church, Greenville, N. C.
Dear Fathers and Brethren:
After another year of labor I
havo the honor of addressing you in
annual session. God has dealt gra
ciously with us. We have enjoyed
good health, and have witnessed
some progress in our work. One
new Church building has been built
during the year, and another planned
for, if funds shall be forthcoming.
The workers are faithful and effi
cient. I have baptized fifteen per
sons since my last report to you.
In March I attended the West
Japan Conference of the Japan
Methodist Church, with which the
missionaries of the M. E. Church,
South, are affiliated. And for the
third consecutive year I represented
the interests of the Methodist Pub
lishing House, of Tokyo, and
through it the interests of the Chris
tian Literature Society. Our own
Dr. Wainwright is giving full time
to the latter as Executive Secretary.
The publication and dissemination
of wholesome and inexpensive litera
ture is one of the enterprises of
Methodism from its origin; and I
am always glad to have some little
part in promoting such a potent
agency as the dissemination of
gospel truth through the printed
page.
The annual meeting of the mis
sionaries of the Japan Mission of
our Church was held in Karuizawa,
August 24-30, Bishop Kilgo presid
ing. His able sermons and addresses
were fervent and appropriate, and
attracted the attention of others not
of our Mission. The presence of
Mrs. Kilgo and Brother J. C. Woot
en delighted all, especially the Tar
Heels.
I have just returned from our
District Conference held at Yo
fchida, on the island of Shikoku. My

brother is preaching faithfully
home, and is preaching by pro f
Japanese. I mention this as a
minder to those who may be looking
for a moth-proof and rust-nrlft
vault in which to store a T
treasure for future use. rather than
to flatter the modest contributor.
I trust that you may have a visit
from Rev. W. A. Wilson, one of 0U
number, who is returning home for
vacation. He is one 0f our most
useful and indefatigable workers.
I trust that you may have a har
monious and profitable session and
pray God's choicest blessings 'upon
you and your presiding Bishop.
I respectfully ask for a continua
tion of my present relation.
Respectfully submitted,
J. W. FRANK,
Pastor Nakatsu Ct., Japan Mis
sion. Nakatsu, Oita Ken, Japan, X0

LETTERS THAT INSPIRE OOXFI
DENCE. I wish very much that every rea
der of this paper could spend
sufficient time in my office to
read the thousands of letters which
I have received from all parts of the
country. I have printed several
hundreds of them in a booklet,

originals, for I would like for you
to realize the wonderful results
which they report in the relief of
dyspepsia, indigestion, persistent
headaches, rheumatism, kidney, blad
der and liver diseases, uric acid
poisoning and other conditions due to
impure blood.
Before my own health was restored
by Shivar Mineral Water I purchased
this Spring, and before I received all
of these letters from sufferers, I
didn't take very much stock in adver
tisements like this. I therefore cannot
blame you if you doubt, but, my
friend, I am absolutely convinced
that the Shivar Spring is the great
est restorative mineral spring ever
discovered, not excepting the famous
Spas of Europe. I have shipped
this water to thousands of sufferers
in all parts of the United States,
and they almost invariably report
either permanent restoration or ben
eficial results. That is why I ma
the offer contained in the follows
letter. Sign it now and send it in.
