Said land is situate in Federal Point-Township, in the County of New Hanover and said State, adjoin ing the - land of Fort Fisher Land & Development Company, and' bounded and described as follows: - Beginning at a galvanized iron pipe driven into the ground on the east bank pf the Cape Fear River, at a place called the "Cove," near the west end of the, .ruins . of Fort Fisher, said jpipe being located about 300 feet below the southern edge of the ledge of rock on the said river bank, and runs thence south 70' degrees east,' 311 feet to an other galvanized iron piper in a pile of bricks where an old house formerly stood; thence south 52- degrees east 419 feet to a large white stone in the cen ter xif the foundation of the' old' light house, at the ruins of Fort - Fisher; thence South 44 degrees east, 787 feet to an iron pipe in the high Water mark on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean; thence along' the same' course about 200 feet, .to . the .low water mark oh the shore of the Atlantic Ocean; thence with the low water mark along the shore line of said ocean in a generally souths westerly direction to an inlet ' across Carolina Shoal Beach; thence with the northerly side of said inlet to the, east erly edge of Still Water Basin, at the low water mark;1 thence1 with the east erly and northerly edge of said basin with low water mark to the Govern ment Rock Dam where the same con nects with the mainland; thence west wardly " across -said ' rock dam '.to the easterly bank of the Cape Fair! River; thence with the various courses of . the isaid bank of the said river along the low wateiLnark in a norjtheastferlyj &l rection, and including the marsh or hammocks known as Grassy Island, to a point in the low water mark , of the Cape. Fear River near the east bank of same, said point being North f0 de grees West from the beginning point and distant therefrom 260 feet; thence South, 70" degrees East 260 feet, to the beginning;, point. Same containing 612 acres more or less and being the same tract or parcel of land conveyed or in tended to be conveyed to Geo. W. Kid der, surviving partner of Edward Kid der. & Son, by Geo.
