The cotton market fell off . for small declines to day, mainly as a result of less favor able conditions abroad and the money situation in this country. Jan. 27 With the demand for sterling down to the new low re cord of 3.56, and continuation of talk aout contraction of loans, local senti ment today continued bearish. The volume of business was restricted on account of -wire troubles. Neverthe less the markets tone was steady and the under tdne good. The very fact that prices do not break with adverse feeling to the market prevailing would indicate that any new bullish develop ment may be expected 'to advance Prices quickly.
