TO CONDUCT CAMPAIGN FOR IRISH RELIEF FUND " i Committee Named Here to Carry j on Canvass Beginning i March 15th ! Wilmington will be asked to con tribute a quoto toward a fund of $10. 250 000 sought in the United States for the relief of sufferers ln Ireland. A committee was appointed ror tne llocal drive yesterday, during the visit here of Dr. M. J. McCarthy, of New York, who is now on a tour of organi sation in this section. j. Owen Reilly was designated as chairman of the committee, which in cludes the following citizens: M. - J. Corbett, W. J. Beren, J. J. Allen. James H. Cowan, M. O'Brien. H. C. Bear, Major Daniel O'Connor and IColonel Walker Taylor, witto -Miss C. E. iDuffy as secretary. A committee of I-women, it was announced, would be chosen by this committee. -It was explained that the effort to ! raise this relief f und is in nowise 'related to the political affairs -of -Ire-ijAnd, but is purely a humanitarian movement inspired by the great suner fng that- now exist among 'the Irish people. The general organization which is carrying on the campaign is known as the American Committee ror , Kejief in Ireland and was declared by j Dr. McCarthy to have no connection 'whatever with the "Friends of Irish ' Freedom."
