EVERYTHING READY
FOR VICTORIA ROUT
All Preparations Complete and
Fighters Are in the City
Ready to Go
Friends of Harry T'ales have two dis
tinct surprises awaiting them tonight
when they see the local favorite climb
through the ropes at the Victoria and
.shed his bathrobe for hia scheduled
^ight-round bout with Joe Bashara,
pride .of the Norfolk Blues.
First .they are going to be visibly
surprised but very much pleased with
| his condition, for Fales is at last down
to weight and in perfect condition,
j Three weeks of steady road and gym
nasium work has done it.
Secondly, and this isn’t going to be
so pleasing, they are going to find out,
along with Fales, just how good Bash
ara is. Few people ill the city have
any conception of the ability of the
Norfolk boy and if Fales has this
opinion, he like the others, is going to
be very much surprised for. Bashara
: oan and expects to fight like a bob
I cat tonight. A knockout is what he
is after.
The second main bout of the evening
"will be a six-round fray between little
Danny McDonald and Tubby Bryant,
the former a veritable flash of light
ning and the latter one of the most
rugged and determined boys in the
city and a true son of Dry Pond.
Slim Mintz, the dangerous kangaroo,
will oppose Sinbad, the bad, bad sailor
boy, in a four-round go which Will be
followed by a five-round bout between
two swift-stepping negro boys who can
fight; giving a total of 28 rounds of
fighting for the night.
Tickets, both ringside and general
admission, can be had at either Starkey
and Kerr’s or Shepard Brothers billiard
parlors as late as 6 o’clock this even
ing and later will be on sale at the
Victoria box office.
