THE WILMINGTON SAVINGS & TRUST COMPANY, Wilmington, North Carolina, Executor under Will of George W. Bailey. Held In Theft Of Royal Car j i——————————i—i iin'i Will i nil'll I MT IT Mrs. Ruth Conway, 27, mother of three children, stmnhles as she and Marie Espierre (left), 18, are led into felony court, New York, where they and four men were charged with theft of an automobile owned by Archduke Felix of Austria. They were captured after a wild chase, during which police fired five shots. HAPPINESS, C. 0. D. (Continued from Page Ten) ever so much more valuable in people’s estimation, and the effort to get invitations to “The Wit to Woo” soon became a clamor. Bill Bailey played a shrewd game. He bluffed considerably for the first three days, then allowed the word to get around that prac tically anybody who was sociallj presentable and who would gel some friend or acquaintance ol Bill's to telephone a recommenda tion, could get the privilege oi buying it. It \^as remarkable, too Bill noted, how many “friends” he suddenly developed. Names tha he never heard of telephoned him mentioned having been in college with him or having met him some where, and put on the touch. He kept up a little act of reticence but usually succumbed—for a $1< fee. Ten days before “The Wi to Woo” was scheduled for pres entation, every one of the 1,60( tickets was sold. Bill and Gayle had to force in a few dozen more in fact, to accommodate last-min ute customers who, for one reasot “CLASSIFIED DISPLAY or another, just couldn’t be turnec down. He and Gayle got Cholly Far rington out to the Oaks that last week to watch rehearsals and gen erally “get acquainted.’’ Cholly had four free passes to the big doings. He was impressed out there, and said so. Hardly more than 30 himself, he was definitely sympathetic with “the Merrifield gang,” and so they practically, hogged his column that week. “Not since Shakespeare,” quoth he loftily, one morning in print, “hath the stage so stirred a town, my deah. Three stages, really, in this new show. An evening of peri patetic drama on the greensward, ■ with the audience, not the cast, doing most of the moving around. See you theah!” 2 (To Be Continued) i _ SEND IN YOUR WANT AD FOR RESULTS ! A want ad will find a buyer.
