CLASSIFIED DISPLAY □ AMA CONVICTION UPHELD BY COURT District Of Columbia Body Rules Charges Must Stand WASHINGTON, June 15— UPl — rhe conviction of the American Medical Association on a charge Df violating the anti-trust laws was jpheld by the District of Columbia ;ourt of appeals today and headed for a Supreme court review. Unanimously, the three-judge ap pelate court sustained the finding of a jury in April of last year that the A.M.A. and the Medical So ciety of the District of Columbia had interfered, in illegal restraint of trade, with operations of group health association. In Chicago, officials of the med ical association announced that the case would be appealed to the nation’s highest tribunal. Group health association is a co operative organization of Federal employes. Its members make monthly payments and, when in need of medical aid, are treated without further charge by physi cians employed by group health on a salary basis. The Medical Association and its District of Columbia affiliate frowned on the idea. The govern ment charged that they influenced hospitals to refuse to group health physicians the privilege of prac ticing in the hospitals, and brought presure to prevent other physi cians from consulting with group health physicians. Officers of the Medical Associa tion and District of Columbia So ciety were also indicted, but were acquitted by the jury which con victed the organizations. Justice James M. Proctor assessed fines of $2,500 against tne association and $1,500 against the Society. -V- i FBI Arrests 22 Aliens In Seven Ohio Cities CLEVELAND.
