Despite wartime travel -restric tions in Canada and in the United States, and the difficulties of trav eling from other countries to North America, delegates at the conven tion represented the majority of the 21,0000 Rotarians who are members of 5,000 Rotary clubs in some 50 countries of the world. Rotarians already in attendance at the convention have come from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Bra vil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, England Egypt Guatemala, Hawaii, Lebanon, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama,, Pal estine, Peru, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Switzerland, the U n i ted States, Uruguay, and Venezuela. This “Congress of Nations” is not only an indication of Rotary’s in ternationality, but also of the soundness of its principles which are based on the belief that dif ferences of race or of creed or of nationally need not necessarily serve as barriers to keep men from being friends. One of the high spots of the con vention program will be a broad cast on Thursday (June 25) to the convention f r o m somewhere in Australia by Lt. Col. Carlos P. Romulo, a past director of Rotary International who is on the staff of Geneal Douglas MacArthur in Australia. This program will be broadcast in Canada by the Ca nadian Broadcasting and in t ha United States by the Mutual Broao> casting Corporation. , Concluding the convention pro gram on Thursday evening (June 25) will be a spectacular ice car nival featuring champion skaters of Canada and the United States.
