Mrs. Pemberton’s home was at tractively arranged with colorful bovv'ls of iris and gladioli and the honoree was presented with a lovely corsage of white flowers upon arrival. At the conclusion of several pro gressions of rummy, high score prize went to Mrs. R. B. Howard and runner-up prize to Mrs. Rob ert McCrary, Jr. The hostess presented the honoree with a lovely gift during the evening’s entertainment. A. was held this past week in the school auditorium. Miss Weber of the Bible department, had charge of the devotional. Annual reports of the following standing committees were given as follows: Mrs. Mclver, membership, who reported that 585 members had been enrolled during the year; Welfare, Mrs. Louis Hanson, re ported that 2,390 students were treated .during the year in the school clinic; and Mrs. L. W. Preston, finance, reported for the year. Mrs. Crowley, president, gave a resume of the year’s work and ex pressed her appreciation to the officers and members for their splendid support and cooperation. Mrs. W. A. Fonvielle in turn con gratulated Mrs. O’Crowley for a successful term in office. Mrs. A. M. Alderman, past di rector of the eighth district, brief ly stated outstanding events of the 24th annual convention of the North Carolina Congress of P.-T. A., which met in Charlotte during the first of the month, she stated Wilmington was cited for having the largest association in the eighth district. The following officers were in stalled by Mrs. Alderman: Mrs. L. W. Preston, president; Mrs. David Holmes, second vice-presi dent; and Mrs. E. L. Witkins, corresponding secretary. Wedding Held In a simple but impressive cere mony in the Tabernacle Baptist church Miss Esther Marian Mills, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Roy ■Mills of Wilmington was married to Redman Earl Crisp of Tarboro. The wedding took place on Fri day, April 16, at 3 p. m., with Rev. C. E. Baker, pastor of the church officiating. Vows were spok en before an altar banked with palms and cut flowers and tall candelabra holding lighted cathe dral tapers completed the back ground. Nuptial music was ren dered by Miss Rosemary Mills, a cousin of the bride, with Mrs. W. T. Mercer accompanying. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a street length dress of pale blue crepe with matching accessories. Her corsage was of sweet-heart roses and forget-me-nots. The maid-of-honor, Miss Eliza beth Mills of Wilmington and Greensboro, also a cousin of the bride, wore an eggshell colored crepe dress with pink accessories. Her corsage was made of pink roses and sweet peas. L. G. Harris, of Wilmington, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man.
