V-Bopib Attack Fails To Interrupt Wedding At Church In England LONDON, March 18—UP)—A V bomb struck between a Catholic church and a school used as a re$t center somewhere in south ern England, killing two adults, a month-old baby, and injured sev eral priests and a nun — but a scheduled wedding went on just the same. Part of the playground equip ment was hurled to the school roof. The Presbytery lost its roof and fire broke out. Doctors crawled over smoking debris to attend the injured. Alsatian dogs were used to find victims. The roof of the church itself was. ripped full of holes. Its inter ior strewn with wreckage. Only half the altar left standing, and the organ blew out entirely. Army units, it wa« reported today, as Allied war* planes for the 13th consecutive day pounded German supply lines in die Brenner Pass. During one assault on an Ameri can-held hamlet, some Germane demanded in fluent English that the Yanks surrender. After 20 minutes of sharp fighting, the Ger mans were beaten off. Italian troops attached to the British Eighth Army killed 20 German parachutists, wounded 15 and captured 10 others during a skirmish in the Fruili sector to the east. The Italians, supported by artillery, then captured sever al buildings. Allied warplanet bombed enemy artillery on the north bank of the Seenio river. Medium bombers of the 15th Air Force yesterday pounded rail lines and bridges on the southern part of the Brenner supply route. Oth er communications lines in the Po valley were attacked. Lock gates in the Tagliamento estuary were hit by coastal air force planes. Early, Jr., son of President Roosevelt’s secre tary, was slightly wounded recent ly in the European theater of op erations. Announcing this today, the War Department said that young Early was visited at a hospital by his father, who is in Europe on a mission for the Army. , The senior Early, White House press secretary, went overseas several weeks ago in civilian <a- ' pacity to serve as consultant in Army press relations.
