S. Webb, commissioner of the Wilmington Girl Scouts, announc ed yesterday. Assigned to assist with organi sation and development of Girl Bcoutiiig in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, Miss Ijams pointed out what she considers the chief value of the training today. “The girls are taught, through actual experience in their own groups, the demo cratic procedures of managing their own affairs,” she said. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Miss Ijams has had several years of experience with Girl Scout work as a volunteer leader, as well as professional Girl Scout work. She was for merly executive at Nashville, Tenn., and Winston-Salem. In connection with the trainig program, the foliowig meetings are scheduled this week: Monday, council executive com mittee meeting, Council meeting Tuesday, Office and Staff Com mittee training, Program Com mittee training, luncheon at the Governor Dudley restaurant by the Leaders’ Association, honor ing Miss Ijams. Wednesday, Camp Committee training; Finance Committee training; luncheon at Mason’s place on Greenville sound by the Council, honoring Miss Ijams. Thursday, Community Cooper ation Committee training with the local professional staff. Saturday, Training Committee conference on troop organizatior and development committee train ing.
