Dial 576Z GIRL SCOUTING CAMP WILL OPEN Hie first annual eight - week camping season of the Wilming ton Girl Scouts will be inaugu rated on June IS at which time the local scouts will combine with the Goldsboro Girl Scouts to open Camp Trailee at Dudley, Miss Dorothy Wells, director of local Girl Scout camps, said yesterday. This is the first year the Wil mington scouts will have the fa cilities for a full camping season. During the 1944 season, they had the use of the Brigade Boys’ camp, at Porters Neck, for a two-week period. A growing . interest in camping led scout leaders to ar range for the cooperative eight week season with the Goldsboro campers. Camp Trailee, which for the past two years has been operated by the Goldsboro scouts, accommo dates 42 girls and offers full fa cilities for swimming, boating, arts and crafts, nature study, archery, badminton, outdoor cook ing and housekeeping among other scouting activities, all leading to credits for scout badges. Such interest in the camp has been evidenced that registration for the first four-week period is completed. However, Miss Wells announced that there still are vacancies during the last four-week period which starts the week of July 11 and extends 'through the week of August 8. To date 48 Wilmington girls have registered for camping periods of from one to four weeks. -V—i- t Daily Prayer ——” ■ X. FOR EVERY-DAY FORTITUDE In a gray and storm-filled world our days come and go. Make strong* our hearts within us, to do and t® endure and to dare. Save us from all discouragement and defeatism, and make us happy warriors in the great Cause which we believe t$ be Thy Cause. We lay in Thy hand all our concern for our boys in service; for if they are dear to us they are dearer to Thee, out Father in Heaven. In Thine own good time grant them a victory that will give to the world peace and brotherhood. And the praise will be Thine. Amen.—W. T.
