Receiving awards were A. 15. Jones, general manager of the Tide Water Power company; J. Holmes Davis, Jr., president Spof ford Mills, Inc.; J. C. itoe, Foy Roe company; Bruce Davis, union official, and James E. L. Wade, local realtor. The awards were presented by Harold M. Hingle, manager Unit ed States Employment Service, Wilmington Office. In making the awards Hinkle said, “These men have and did give untiringly of their time.’’ Their work consisted of meeting at least three nights a week with employes who wished to change jobs. Acting as an advisory and ap. peals council the men were con fronted with many problems, both from the standpoint of the em ploye and the employer, Hinkle explained. The awards were signed by Dr. J. S. Norton, state director of the war Manpower commission; Hen ry I. Shepherd, area director of the USES, and Hinkle. Presenta tion of the awards were made on the recommendation of the War Manpower commission in Wash ington.
