C _ French Troops Break Up Resistence By Annamites SAIGON, Jan. 29.French forces have broken the back of Annamite resistance in southern Annam and have captured the im portant city of Dalat, 150 miles northeast of Saigon and 50 miles inland from the China Sea, a French communique announced to day. Carrying out the greatest of fensive operation they have thus far undertaken against the An namite forces, the French employ ed airborne troops to capture Dalat. Elements of the crack French second division and the Ninth Colonial Infantry then drove on beyond Dalat to the shores of the China Sea. Camp Croft Now Moving Toward Closing Stages SPARTANBURG, S. C., Jan. 29. — (U.R) —Camp Croft, big Army training center near Spartanburg was to bid farewell today to the last of its training instructors to day. The last unit of 32 men is head ed for separation centers, leaving only a maintenance crew of 30C soldiers at the camp. More than 30,000 soldiers were trained at Camp Croft during the war as Infantry replacements.
