PRICE OF SUGAR MAY BE ADVANCED WASHINGTON, Feb. 12. —CU.PJ— The government is considering a plan to ease the stocking and shirt shortage by forcing manufacturers to sell them promptly. The civilian production admini stration, it was learned, is draw ing up an order which would limit manufacturers’ inventories to a 30 day supply of suits, shirts, trous ers, shorts and rayon and nylon hose. Other items may be added to the list later. One CPA spokesman said even a 30-day sale period was too long. He recommended that inventories be limited to a seven days supply. Improvement In Sugar Stocks Now Anticipated WASHINGTON, Feb. 12. —(u.R)_ A government study showed today that sugar stocks in the United States are at their lowest since early 1942 but are expected to improve by spring. Brightest spot in the sugar out look is Cuba where the new crop may reach 4,750,000 tons, compared with a 1945 output of 3,925,000 tons. Some early 1946 Cuban sugar is now moving to the main land under an “interim contract” recently signed with Cuba. Accuses Argentine Of Nazi Collaboration' WASHINGTON, Feb. 12—(U.R)— The United States today accused Argentina of wartime collabora tion, espionage, hemisphere in trigue and ai to Nazi Germany. The State Department delivered to all other American republics except Argentina a "blue book,” based on documents captured in Germany. Citing a 500 per cent increase in Argentine military credits in the past four years, the "blue book” accuses Argentine totalitarian groups of combining with Nazi leaders and organizations to create a Nazi-Fascist state. Argentina was accused of a con spiracy to obtain arms from Ger many, of attempting to undermine the inter-American system and of making mockery of its pledge to the United Nations to “reaffirm faith in human rights and in the dignity and worth of the human person.” The United States said the indict ment contains only a small pro portion of the proof of Argentina’s pro-German activity in its hands. This country invited the other American republics to state their views on the charges. It was charged that high Argen tine officials were so seriously compromised in their relations with the enemy that trust and confi dence "could not be reposed in CLASSIFIED DISPLAY that government.” That statement was interpreted as a bid for joint action to break off diplomatic re lations with the present military regime in Buenos Aires. The American publication spe cifically named Col. Juan D. Peron, head of a military junta that toolf over the Argentine government, ar "a principal leader” of the Argen tine conspirators. Peron is ac cused of spurring the Brazilian integralists and of making similar efforts with domestic pro-Axi*' forces in Paraguay and Uruguay. NEWSPRINT PRODUCTION WASHINGTON.
