Thej/ have a building on the dock and often they are off duty for only two hours at a time — not long enough to go far for entertainment. They feel it would be nice to have a reading room or lounge right on the dock where they can write letters, read, play or just loaf. A local Furniture firm has do nated a few pieces of furniture and any person or firm wishing to do nate an article or two are asked to call the Red Cross office 2-2683. EVERY WEEKDAY WMFD “ 5»is p u V«IW I * Iflu American Broadcaating Company Confederate Air Force Organized Last March, Now Has Five Branches Special To the Star NEW BERN, Oct. 31—The Con federate Air Force, organized here last March by “Col,” Mike Holton and “Col.” Albert T. McSortey, former Air Corps members, con tinues to grow and expand. More than 100 members have joined, artd three new branches have been formed, to make a total of five branches for the local headquart er*. Previously branches had been organized at Atlanta. Ga., and Frankfurt Germany. More recent ly new branches have been re ported from Marietta, Macon and St. Simon’s Island, all in Georgia. The Confederate Air Force en gineers here laid out the new Hardison airport at Jasper and participated in its dedication pro gram. There are about 2,000 species of ants in Australia. H. B. MARSHAM TO RECEIVE PIN FOR ACL SERVICE H. B. Marshburn, Atlantic Coast Line Railroad chief clerk, trans portation department here, this week will be awarded the com pany’s 25-year emblem for continu ous service. Marshburn originally entered railroad employ November 1, 1921. General Superintendent of Trans portation F. L.
