F’CH CHURCHES TO HOLD SERVICE Protestant Groups Will Hold United Armistice Program Sunday hour Protestant faiths will join a united Armistice Memorial £e vice in the Carolina Beach Bap t;?- church, at 7:30 o’clock Sun f v night under the auspices of the A crican Legion, Carolina Beach Post No. 272. Among the churches scheduled ;0 participate in the service are ... St. Pauls Methodist church; Ail Saints by-the-Sea Episcopal church and the Carolina Beach Presbyterian church. Choirs of all the churches will participate in the processionals. The Rev. Richard L. Sturgis, rector of St. Andrews Episcopal church, Wrightsville Sound, and former chaplain in the armed forces will be the preacher. This service will be the first of its kind to be held at the resort. F. J. Plath, chaplain of the Caro lina Beach Post of the American Legion will have charge of the service. Delegations from the local Legion post and the Legion auxili ary will attend the service. On Armistice Day the Legion will hold exercises in the city hall auditorium at 11 a. m. followed by a barbecue. REA ORES LOAN WASHINGTON, Nov. 6. — (U.R) —The rural electrification admin stration today approved $1,824,000 in loans to four ural electric cooperatives. CHAMPION WRECK ATTRIBUTED TO RAIL SPLITTING The rail, which broke Wednesday under the crack Miami-bound Champion, derailing some sleeper cars two miles north of Rowland, had been inspected only two days before with no defects noted, C. G. Sibley, general manager of the At lantic Coast Line railroad, said here last night. One woman was injured slight ly, according to Sibley. However, she and the other passengers con tinued their journey on an im provised train, he added. A Sperry dector car had passed over the Rowland section of the line on November 4 and no defects were discovered in that particular rail, he said. The particular rail was a 100-pound section manu factured in 1937 and laid the same year. Steelman ordered the Agriculture department to put into effect a price support program for domes tic beet sugar which will pay pro ducers an average price of $14.50 per ton for the 1947 crop. This is an increase of $1 a ton over the current support price. At the same time, he authoriz ed the department to revise its 1946 price support programs for producers in' Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to give them equal treatment with Cuban producers. L. Herring near Allenton Tues day night according to Sheriff E. Clyde Wade. Parham is the son in-law of Herring. The sheriff said that kerosene apparently had been applied to the barn and to the part of the house that was burned.
