buyers who were offered the heav
iest Friday receipts in a month
today forced prices to the loweat
in the same length of time, al
though cattle and sheep remain
ed mostly steady.
Lightweight butcher hogs faded
50 to ^5 cents a hundred pounds'*
and heavier kinds and sow*
slumped 75 cents to $1.00. Molt !*
good and choice butchers ranged a
widely between $25 25 and the
practical top of $27.25 with a few
small lots getting $26.75 to $27.25.
Most good and choice sows brought »
$23.00 to $23.25 with some up to u
$23.50.
Shippers brought 2,000 hogs, :
their largest take since Feb. 26. <
