NEGRO WINS WINGS AT LOCAL AIRPORT Herman L. Anderson, Negro, of 114 South ioth street, won his wings at Bluethenthal airport yes terday when he soloed as a student of the Atlantic School of Aviation in training under the GI Bill of rights. The Atlantic school, operating at Bluethenthal since July 1, is a new corporation which gives avia tion instruction to Negro veterans exclusively under the GI Bill, al though white students are privately enrolled. Anderson is one of 10 Negro veterans who are currently in training. His instructor is Edward Gibbs, Negro, who came to Wil mington from New York City and is making his home here. Anderson made his first solo flight in an Aeronca champion. The school also uses a Cub cruiser for training flights. Operators of the Atlantic school are John A.
