Ushers were Buddy Keller and Billy Walton of Carolina Beach and B. H. Thompson of Aurora, and Dusty Rhoades of Raleigh. Little Miss Carolyn Sessoms of Raleigh was sweet in her gown of white satin fashioned along the same lines as that of the hide carrying as flower girl a basket of white chrysanthe mums, while Master Oscar Wil bur Davis. Jr., carried the rings In on a small white satin pillow as ring bearer. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs. M. A. Sly, aunt of the bride, whose home was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Mrs. Donnie Ludwig received fee guests who were ushered in he dining room where Mrs. Ruby Sessoms presided at the punch bowl. Miss Ella Moore presided at the bride’s book. As sisting Mrs. M. A. Sly in cutting fee cake were Misses Lois Sly and Shirley Allman and Mrs. Audrey Dourdounas. Tbs bride is the youngest daughier of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Fisher of Carolina Beach. She attended schools in Salis bury and Wilmington and is a graduate of New Hanover High school This past year she has been associated with the South eastern North Carolina Beach association. Keith of Sanford Miss Wandalee Wilson Becomes Bride Of John Franklin Wilson Th wedding of Miss Wanda lee Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin Wilson of Lake Waccamaw, to John Franklin Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julien Franklin Wilson of Bolton, took place Friday, De cember 19, at 5 o’clock at the Waccamaw Baptist church, Lake Waccamaw. The Rev. E. E. Ulrich, of Lake Waccamaw, performed the ceremony which was followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The vows were spoken before a background of pine, fern and the large baskets of white gladioli, candelabra holding cathedral tapers shed a soft light over the setting. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Lloyd Collier of White ville and Mrs. Otto Jones of Bol ton. I he bride wore an exquisite gown of heavy white slipper sa tin featuring an off the shoulder neckline bordered by triple folds of satin forming a bertha. The extremely full skirt was featur ed by a triple effect bustle in the back. The long court train fell into graceful folds. Her veil of bridal illusion, with face veil was held at the back of her hair line by a bandeaux of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of tuberoses centered with a white orchid and showered with tuberoses. The maid-of-honor Miss Ann Wilson, sister of the bride,*wore i an identical gown ojily in hya-; cinth blue taffeta matching long I gloves ana a uara oi pinn ear nations trimmed in pink satin, j Her flowers were also of pink i carnations tied in pink satin. The bridesmaids Misses Doro thy O’Neil of Raleigh, and Miss Lela Cobb of Halifax, also wore identical gowns fashioned after the bride’s only in a deep shade j of rose. They carried pale pink j carnations with satin streamers j and wore tiaras of rose carna tions. Gene Funderburke of Rome, Ga. was best man. Ushers were Frank Wilson, of Lake Wacca maw, brother of the bride; Jim my Pleasants of Durham. Cren shaw Thompson of Wake Forest and John Friday of Dallas. The ring bearer was Woodie Wayne of Lake Waccamaw and the flower girl was Gloria Lamb of Lake Waccamaw. The bride’s mother wore an aqua gown of brocade taffeta white carnations and silver ac cessories. Her three - quarter length gloves matched her gown. The mother of the bride groom also wore brocaded gown of light green and match ing gloves. Her flowers were of white carnations. Maynard of Council and the late Mr May nard. took place on Sundav aft ernoon, December 14, at 3 30 o’clock at the heme of the Rev. R. L. Alexander in Lumberton. The bride wore a brown Glenn plaid suit with brown ac cessories and a corsage of yel low roses. The bride is a graduate of Barnsville High school and Lu cille’s Beauty School in Greens boro. Up until her marriage she was co-owner of the East Lum berton Beauty shop. Mr. Maynard is connected with the Wilmington Star-News Engraving department. Mr. Sandifer had as his best man, his brother, Cecil Sandifer, of Wilmington. Mr. Sandfer, who is now as socated wth the Ward Funeral j home, here in Wilmington, is a j former student of Connie Max well Children’s home in Green-1 wood, South Carolina, and a: graduate of Edgefield High school in Edgefield, South Caro lina. He served two and one-half years in the U. S. Navy. Immediately following the ceremony, friends of the couple were invited to the reception at the home of the bride. The tra ditional bridal decorations were used and during the evening Miss Eleanor Moore cut the cake. Miss Betty Scott poured punch. Miss Allegra “Kit” Blackham and Miss Eunice Keith assisted in serving. Following the reception the couple left for a wedding trip in Western North Carolina. Mrs. Nobles received her ed ucation at Wallace High school and East Carolina Teachers col lege in Greenville. Mr. Nobles attended Chadbourn High school and during the war served three and a half years in the army. M. Sharpe of Durham, took, place at the First Presbyterian church here December 1, at 7:30 o’clock. The Rev. R. L. Alexander officiated. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. C. State Col leges. She is now taking train ing as an X-ray technician at Watts hospital in Durham.
